AP CM Jagan launches YSR Nethanna Nestham Scheme

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the YSR Nethanna Nestham scheme at Dharmavaram in Anantapur.
Under the scheme, Rs 24,000 will be credited directly into the bank accounts of the weavers having own looms every year. The amount will not be adjusted to the old dues of the beneficiary to the bank.
This scheme will benefit 85,000 handloom weaver families in the State.

Aditya K. of Ramanattukara, Kozhikode, has become the first child from the State to bag the Bharat Award for bravery.
The Bharat Award has gone to Aditya for rescued 20 people from a bus carrying members of the Calicut University Pensioners’ Forum and their families when it caught fire coming down a steep mountain road.

National Mathematics Day: 22 December

National Mathematics Day is observed on 22 December every year to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan and his contributions in the field of mathematics.
The former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, paid tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan at a function organized on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Iyengar Ramanujan in Chennai. National Mathematics Day celebrated across the country for the first time.
The Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887 and died on 26 April 1920.

Cuba names Manuel Marrero Cruz as first prime minister

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel named Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz as the country’s first prime minister since 1976.
The post of prime minister was scrapped in 1976 by the then-revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.

Rafael Nadal, Ashleigh Barty named 2019 ITF World Champions

Rafael Nadal and Australian Ashleigh Barty have been named International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) World Champions for 2019.
Ashley Barty was ranked number one in the year 2019 and played his first major grand slam role in this year. Barty had also won the WTA Finals title and played his key role in leading Australia to the Fed Cup final for the first.
Rafael Nadal currently the world number one, this year won his 12th French Open and a fourth US Open.

Vice President releases the book “Turbulence and Triumph– The Modi Years”

The Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu released a book titled ‘Turbulence and Triumph: The Modi Years’ in New Delhi.
The book has been written by Rahul Agarwal and Bharti S Pradhan and is published by Om Books International.
The book is about the life journey of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from his days as a young boy in Gujarat till becoming the Prime Minister of India.

Monisha Ghosh named as first woman CTO at FCC in US

Indian-American Dr Monisha Ghosh has been appointed as the first woman Chief Technology Officer at the US government’s powerful Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
She will advise Indian-American Chairman of the FCC Ajit Pai and the agency on technology and engineering issues and work closely with the Office of Engineering and Technology. Ghosh will take charge on January 13 next year.

8 West African nations rename common currency to Eco

Eight West African countries have agreed to change the name of their common currency to Eco and severed their earlier currency CFA Franc’s links to former colonial ruler France.
The 8 countries are Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

The Chief Minister Shri. Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) laid the foundation stone of two Integrated Processing Units of Sikkim IFFCO Organics Limited in Rangpo, East Sikkim.
Sikkim IFFCO is a joint venture between the world’s biggest fertilizer Cooperative, IFFCO, and Government of Sikkim.
The main purpose to promote and market the organic produce of the country and especially from Sikkim and other north-eastern states of India.

Ecuador has declared emergency to contain the environmental impact of a fuel spill in the Galapagos Islands, after a barge carrying 600 gallons of diesel fuel sank.
