Saurabh Chaudhary wins gold at 63rd National Shooting Championship
The 17-year-old ace shooter from Uttar Pradesh Saurabh Chaudhary has won the men’s 10 metres air pistol gold at the 63rd National Shooting Championship in Bhopal.
It was jointly organized and conducted by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy.

Rohit Sharma lays foundation stone for international cricket stadium in Hyderabad
Star opening batsman Rohit Sharma laid down the foundation stone for an international cricket stadium and training centre at Heartfulness Institute on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The cricket stadium has been named after Rohit Sharma and this facility will provide the youngsters at the institute to perfect their cricketing skills.

U.S. airstrike kills top Iran general, Qassem Soleimani
General Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC’s) Quds Force, and architect of its regional security apparatus, has been killed following a US air raid at Baghdad’s international airport.
The White House and the Pentagon confirmed the killing of Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US President Donald Trump and was aimed at deterring future attacks allegedly being planned by Iran.
First-of-its kind turtle rehab centre comes up in Bihar
Bihar’s Bhagalpur forest division is to inaugurate a first-of-its-kind rehabilitation centre for freshwater turtles.
The need for establishing such rehabilitation centre is, the turtles which were rescued from smuggles by rescue teams, were severely wounded and sick. Sometime the team found some dead turtles too.
Such sick turtles were released into the rivers without providing any treatment because of the absence of any facility like the centre.
India to sign MoU for AK-203 assault rifles with Russia
The Indian Army is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)in a month for the procurement of over 7.5 lakh AK-203 assault rifles.
As per the MoU, about 1 lakh rifles would be produced in Russia, while the rest 6.5 lakh units would be manufactured in India by an India-Russia joint venture (JV) based in Amethi.
Singular ‘they’ is voted word of the decade by US linguists
US linguists have chosen “they” as their word of the decade, recognising the growing use of third-person plural pronouns as a singular form to refer to people who identify their gender as neither entirely male nor entirely female.
The most popular pick for the Word of the Year 2019 was “(my) pronouns”.
India ranks 34th in Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index
India has ranked 34th in the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum for the year 2019.
The Ministry of Tourism reported that India has gained popularity among overseas travellers as foreign tourist arrivals grew by 3.23% during January-November 2019.
India’s rank in Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index of World Economic Forum has moved to 34th position from 65th rank in 2013.
