Girish Chandra Chaturvedi new chairman of NSE

  • Girish Chandra Chaturvedi has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Stock Exchange. The appointment comes following the approval of the market’s regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India.
  • The position was vacant since Ashok Chawla resigned as the chairman of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in January.

India and Russia tri services exercise INDRA 2019

  • Exercise INDRA 2019 a joint, tri services exercise between India and Russia will be conducted simultaneously at Babina (near Jhansi), Pune, and Goa.
  • INDRA 2019 a joint tri services exercise between India and Russia will be conducted in India from 10 to 19 December 2019.
  • The INDRA series of exercise began in 2003 and the First joint Tri Services Exercise was conducted in 2017.
  • The contingents of both the countries will share expertise and their professional experience. The espirit-de-corps and goodwill shall be the key areas during the exercise which will facilitate further strengthening of bonds between the defence forces of India and Russia.

  • The objective was to rank the top 10 Police Stations out of 15,579 Police Stations in the country through data analysis, direct observation, and public feedback.

Punjab govt launches ESTAC programme for startups

  • Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Friday launched Enable Startup Track Acceleration (ESTAC) programme during Progressive Punjab Investors Summit-2019, with an aim to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the state.
  • ESTAC is a series of startup acceleration programmes created through a strategic partnership between the state government (Start-up Punjab Cell) and AIC, Indian School of Business, Mohali.

India’s first HAM project in sewerage sector at Sarai, Haridwar

  • Uttarakhand CM and Union Jal Shakti Minister dedicate Sarai Project in presence of King and Queen of Sweden.
  • In order to improve the quality of water in river Ganga in the state of Uttarakhand 34 Projects of Sewerage infrastructure works have been taken up at a cost of approximately Rs. 1,144.77 crores for creating treatment capacity of 165.50 MLD, and for laying sewerage network of 152 kms.
  • Out of these 34 projects, 23 have been completed and the remaining projects are at different stages of execution and implementation.
  • Once all these projects are commissioned the entire sewage capacity of the state of Uttarakhand would have been met and there would be substantial improvement in the quality of water of the river Ganga in Uttarakhand.
