Arun Kumar Sahu appointed India’s next High Commissioner to Dominica

Arun Kumar Sahu has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the mountainous Caribbean island of Dominica.

Arun Kumar Sahu presently High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has been concurrently accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to the Commonwealth of Dominica with residence in Port of Spain.

Mizoram govt set to organize 1st edition of Zo kutpui festival 2020

The Mizoram state government is organizing the Zo Festival in 10 states across India and in foreign countries such as the US, Myanmar, and Bangladesh.

The aim of the celebration of the Zo Festival is to reunify and strengthen the brotherhood among different tribes of Mizo.

Bhubaneswar to host 1st edition of Khelo India University Games 2020

Khelo India University Games 2020 is going to be held for the first time at KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.

Buxa Bird Festival Begins in West Bengal

The 4th edition of the Buxa Bird Festival began in Buxa National Park in the Alipurduar district of West Bengal.

Shivalik Mercantile receives approval to become Small Finance Bank

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) coming up with its draft guidelines on urban cooperative bank (UCB) asking them to lend 75 per cent of their portfolio towards priority sector, Uttar Pradesh based multi-state Shivalik Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd received an in-principle approval for becoming a small finance bank.

The RBI will grant a licence to Shivalik Mercantile bank for the commencement of banking business under Section 22 (1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 as an SFB.

Shivalik bank is the largest UCB in Uttar Pradesh.

ISRO’s Human Space Flight Centre to Come up at Challakere

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has proposed a ₹ 2,700-crore master plan to create the Human Space Flight Centre at Challakere in Chitradurga district of Karnataka.

At present, the four selected astronauts will train at the “Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre” in Russia for Gaganyaan mission 2022.
